INDEPENDENCE->

San Salvador is the capital of the smallest country in Central America: El Salvador. This place in particular is very important to Central America because it was the place where it was announced the independence of the whole of Central America from the Spanish. This historic date was the 5th of November of 1811. At 4:00 o'clock in the morning Father Jose Matias Delgado ranged the Merced church's bells and announced that Central America was now free. There was when Central America became one whole country. Later on the 15th on September of 1821 El Salvador got its independence and became one country, no longer with the whole of Central America.
